My understanding is that both Bishop Andrus and Bishop Robinson are going to Canterbury so they'll be there while Lambeth is happening. I think it's crucial that they go and I am glad and grateful that they are doing so. There are many events that are open, to which one does not need an invitation in order to attend. There are also ad hoc meetings and networking and so forth. Many people who are not invited--non-bishop folk--go to Canterbury for Lambeth, meaning to be there and participate in open events and to have their own meetings, etc. We tend to refer to all of this as "going to Lambeth." But those who are not invited cannot attend those sessions and events to which only bishops--in this case, only some bishops--and a few select others are invited.
This blog contains strong language and God-talk that may be unsuitable for the faint of heart. Beyond here there be dragons. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Point well made--but I had lunch w/Marc and Sheila two days ago. He's leaving for Lambeth on Wednesday.
What have I missed?
